ED SANCHEZ TREASURE
Floyd,
Everywhere I turn, I find the following information included in
several lists.
*South Dakota** treasures waiting to be found*
Fruit jars filled with cash, the Mexican Ed Sanchez treasure, is
hidden on Dirty Woman Creek near the old town of Grinston, Custer
County.
I have no idea where this claim came from nor from whom, but Dirty
Woman Creek is in the Northern part of South Dakota, in Haakon
County, not Custer County. Custer County is in the Southern Black
Hills, miles from Haakon County.
There is also a Grindstone, South Dakota, also in Haakon County. I
have never seen nor read nor know of a town named Grinston, S.
Dakota near Custer. It is obvious that someone got their wires
crossed when this was written. I have received many E Mails
reference this story and all I can tell them is the information is
wrong as I know it.
I can say for a fact that several broken gallon jars and uncovered
digging areas were found near Grindstone, South Dak, near Grindstone
Buttes, on Dirty Woman Creek several years ago. I do beleive the
Sanchez treasure has been located via metal detector, a Garrett
Detector no less.
I dont know if you are interested in this information or not but
TH's are wasting their time looking for this treasure in either
location. I thought it my duty to pass this info on to you for what
ever good it does.
BTW, your monthly newsletters, I feel, are "fantastic"! I can not
wait until the next one hits my mail box. Thanks for the effort you
put forth. One of these days I hope to meet you in person and shake
your hand.
Oh yes, thanks to Tara too!
Bob M.
