(North of Antlers, Oklahoma on the Kiamichi River-call for reservations)
This will be a 3-day weekend of events and “OPEN TO THE PUBLIC”, everyone is welcome to participate or visit. A number of treasure hunts will take place this weekend; FREE Children Hunt, Combination Women & Children Hunt, an Open Hunt for everyone, and several other smaller hunts. This will be a fun filled weekend for the entire family to enjoy. We will also have a Potluck Dinner on Saturday Night, several Fundraisers with prizes like collectible coins, silver one ounce rounds and more.
Many skilled and experienced hobbyists will be on hand to provide instructions, demonstrations, success stories and more. If you do not yet have a metal detector so to participate in the activities of this weekend, do not fear, we will have extra detectors and show you how to use them so you can have as much fun as the rest of us this weekend. Also we are blessed to have members of the Gold Prospectors Association of America (GPAA) with us this weekend to provide FREE demonstrations and instructions on gold panning, gold dredging, and divining rod usage. Gold has been found in the Kiamichi River in the past, give it a try and become a prospector.
The Campgrounds will handle reservations for camping, canoeing, swimming, 4 wheeling, fishing, and horseback riding; give them a call and make your reservations to camp there today before all spots are taken. The area is beautiful and filled with old history and treasure tales.
