Hi Floyd,
I don't know if you'd be interested in posting this in your
next news letter in regards to a little treasure hunt in
Waikiki Hawaii.
1997 My wife and son and I spent 2 weeks enjoying the sun
and surf, I got out a few times of a night to search the
beaches.
I remember at the end of the trip I put a bunch of change
and some jewellery & brass knuckles +$14.00 in bills I'd
found, into a nylon pouch and buried it by a tree in front
of the big Pink Hotel in Waikiki. I also put my name and
phone number (call collect) on paper and wrapped it in
plastic.
I know that the local treasure hunters wouldn't find it
because they never used scoops they just used their feet to
kick the sand to find the coins and rings.
I buried deep, I had a Whites Spectrum at the time and I
buried it so I could just get a faint signal.
I knew if anyone would find it would be someone like me that
would go for that faint signal and spend some time digging
in the sand.
Did someone find it? I never got a call. This could make for
a fun adventure for any of your readers from Hawaii or ones
that are going there.
If it's not good for your news letter I'll post it in some
treasure forums, just thought I'd give you the first shot at
it.
All the best,
Chris Turner
